This was the transformation of a classic 1970s brick home into a contemporary, open-plan residence while preserving the character of the original dwelling.

Internal walls were removed to form a generous kitchen, living, and dining zone, opening to the rear through large sliding doors and establishing a strong indoor–outdoor connection. A new double garage replaces the existing shed, with a reworked driveway integrated cleanly into the updated frontage.

Externally, matched brickwork was carefully incorporated to ensure the extension feels considered and permanent — as though it has always belonged.

Behind the scenes, a substantial amount of structural work was concealed within the ceiling space, requiring detailed coordination and sequencing to maintain clean, uninterrupted interiors.

At the rear, merbau decking extends from the living spaces and transitions seamlessly into exposed aggregate, forming a refined outdoor setting that anchors the alfresco zone and completes the connection between inside and out.
